Cambodia, the Kingdom of Wonders, has alot to offer for Classic Tours from the busting Phnom Penh capital to the Southern Coast of Kep, Kampot and Sihanouk Ville. Ta Keo is the less visited town bordered with Vietnam. But it has a lot of history related to the past pre-Angkor period. It was also home to former Khmer Rouge General Commander known as Ta Mok.
From Phnom Penh, it is worth to cross Tonle Sap lake to Siem Reap. It is one the most interesting boat trip in Camobodia. Tonle Sap lake is the biggest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia. The boat has aircon. and toilet. It is recommended from July to February. Explore Angkor temple complex is a must visit with unforgettable experience especially the hightlighted temples Ta Phrom embraced by giant trees and creepers, the 7th Wonder of the World Angkor Wat and Beng Mealea, the lost temple of Indiana Jones hidden in the jungle.
It is also possible to travel by boat along the lower Mekong river from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc, the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. Vietnamese visa has to be proceeded in advance.
Another great experience is to travel along the upper Mekong river from Phnom Penh to Kratie to see the fresh water Irrawady dolphins. Then continue to Stung Treng to combine with some of the adventure activities including kayaking near Laos border, biking along the Mekong river and the trekking in Northeast Rattanakiri and Mondul Kiri. After Cambodia, you can cross the border into Laos about 50km from Stung Treng. Laos visa has also to be proceeded in advance.
