Cambodia Road Bike Angkor to Sihanouk Ville 9 Days / 8 Nights

Trip Profile:

This Cambodia Road Bike starts in Siem Reap, with the pre-tour to visit to Angkor temple complex. Then cycle to Kampong Thom, visit Naga Bridge built during Angkorian period on the Angkor ancient road. Cycle to the bustling capital of Phnom Penh, visit Cheung Ek Killing Field and Genocide Museum known as S21. Cycle from Phnom Penh to Kep, the relaxing and charming beach town. From Kep, we cycle to Sihanouk Ville and enjoy the beach break on one of the most beautiful island.



Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Siem Reap
Arrive in Siem Reap, welcome by our cycling guide to transfer to the hotel for check in. Bike fitting and tour briefing. Welcome dinner.

Day 2: Complex (30km by bicycle)
Depart from the hotel on the main road and cycling through Angkor pass check point. Cycling through the shady road, there you will begin to see Kravan temple, Banteay Kdei, and stop at the famous Ta Phrom, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Visit Ta Phrom (45 minutes-1 hour). It was built in 12th century by the famous King Jayavarvan VII indicated to his mother. While clearing back the forest archaeologists decided to leave the vegetation of Ta Phrom in place to serve as a reminder of how the original discoverers found it and the other Angkor temples. Many of the trees have grown around and through the remains and soar high above the temples. Continue the cycling through small circuit passing Ta Keo temple, Chao Say Tevoda, Tommanon before reaching to Angkor Thom city. There you will see, Terrace of Leper King, Terrace of Elephant, Baphoun, Phimean Akas. Stop at Bayon temple and start the visit (45 minutes-1 hour). Angkor Thom built by Cambodia's great king, Jayavarman VII. An eight-meter high wall encloses this ten square kilometre city, which is encircled by a moat. The famous Bayon, in the geographical heart of Angkor Thom, is a remarkable 54 tower temple. Initially the temple appears to be a shapeless mass of grey and brown stone, but it is only as you get closer that you realize every tower has the carved face of Avalokiteshvara on it.

After the visit, cycle to Angkor Wat to finish the small circuit. Stop at South Gate of Angkor Thom for taking photo. Access via a causeway over the moat that are flanked by statues of Gods on the left and devils on the right. Then visit the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat. It is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. Angkor Wat is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level. Suryavarman II constructed Angkor Wat in the form of massive 'temple mountain' dedicated to the Hindu god,Vishnu. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 3: Siem Reap - Kampong Thom: (Cycling 148km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we cycle on Apsara Road, passing Rolous Group, the pre-Angkorian temples in 8th century. We make a water stop at a Khmer pagoda. Then cycle to Stung, where we stop for lunch. After lunch, we take a long break. Then we cycle to Prey Pros, where we make our final water stop at a coffee shop. From Prey Pros, we cycle straight to our hotel in Kampong Thom. Enjoy the swimming at the pool or book our massage. Dinner and overnight in Kampong Thom.

Day 4: Kampong Thom - Phnom Penh (164km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we cycle to Skun town, known as the fried spider town where we make the water stop. The villagers used to search for spiders from the rice field, but not anymore. Most of them now, sell them alive and fried in all most every local shop and restaurant where we make our rest room stop. After Skun, the road get more busy and we cycle on a single file. If we keep a good pace, we should arrive in Phnom Penh before the rush hour to the hotel. Relax and swim at the pool. Evening enjoy the nightlife in Phnom Penh.

Day 5: Phnom Penh City Tour (Cyclo Tour)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we take a break and hop on cyclo, the Cambodian rickshaw to visit the Genocide Museum known as S21. It used to be the high school before 1975, then Khmer Rouge has turn it into the most brutal prison. Visit Cheung Ek Killing Field located on the outskirt of Phnom Penh. Before 1975, it was a Chinese graveyard. Then KhmerRouge has turned it into the Killing Field. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 6: Phnom Penh - Kep (154Km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we cycle out off Phnom Penh City to Kep town, one of the famous beach town in Cambodia. Kep is relaxing and charming town. Before arriving Kep, we make our stop to visit Phnom Sorsia Cave. It is considered a holy hill, and we visit White Elephant Cave. It has a stalagmite resembling the head of an elephant. VisitBuddha statues on the right of the White Elephant Cave, a garishly painted temple and the stupa on the top of the hill. From there, we can see the view of the ocean in Kep. After the visit, we cycle to our hotel in Kep. Evening barbequedinner at the restaurant on the beach. Overnight in Kep.

Day 7: Kep-Sihanouk Ville (127km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Cycle from the hotel to Kampot, the town of Cambodian famous pepper and durian. Kampot is a quiet town located on the fresh water Kampot River where salt and fresh water meet. After Kampot, we cycle toward Bokor Hill. While we cycle, we keep seeing the view of the hill on the right hand side. When we leave the hill behind, we cycle pass a small finishing village in Trapaeng Ropov. We stop for lunch in Veal Rinh. Then cycle the final leg to Sihanouk Ville where we finish and celebrate on the beach. Transfer by boat to Koh Rong Sanloem Island. Overnight in Koh Rong Sanloem Island.

Day 8: Free day at Koh Rong Sanloem Island
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to relax and swim at the beach.

Day 9: Phnom Penh Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Free until transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for departure flight.
